> The 2007-08 Moose year ended with our “We’re Betting on YOU” short-term campaign--in which we counted on YOU to give the fraternity the final push needed to give us a second consecutive year of membership growth by April 30, 2008!

Did we make it? As of this deadline, we still don’t know--and we’ll all find out when Director General Bill Airey gives us the news in his keynote address during the International Convention Premiere in Las Vegas on Friday evening, June 20!

Until then, however--for the six weeks between the May 1 beginning of the Moose year and June 15, as we prepare to head to Las Vegas--here’s another big incentive for members of both the Loyal Order of Moose and the Women of the Moose to sponsor one member . . . or two or three or four:

For every men’s or women’s new-member application reported between May 1 and June 15, the sponsor’s name will be entered into a random drawing to win airfare and five nights’ free hotel accommodations for the 2009 International Convention in Chicago, May 28-June 3! The name of one male and one female member-sponsor will be drawn during the Las Vegas Convention June 21--and the more members you sponsor during those six weeks, the more coupons will be put into the drawing hopper with your name on it! Of course, sponsor credits earned during this short-term campaign will also count toward sponsor recognition in the next 2008-09 Membership Campaign to be announced during Director General Airey’s presentation on June 20.

If you sponsored at least two new members between Jan. 1 and April 30, you received this special “We’re Betting On YOU!” deck of playing cards. Bring the uniquely numbered “insert card”with you to the International Convention in Las Vegas June 19-25, and you may win either a Life Membership in the Moose, or a free-airfare/hotel trip to the 2009 International Convention in Chicago!

If You Earned “We’re Betting On You” Playing Cards, Bring Them With You to Vegas! Why? Because the one uniquely numbered “insert card” in that deck (which you earned by sponsoring at least two new members between Jan. 1 and April 30--thank you!) is your entry to possibly receive an additional award! Among the available awards are:

• Airfare and five nights’ hotel accommodations at the 2009 International Convention in Chicago;
  
  
• Life Membership (no more dues payments!) in the Loyal Order of Moose or Women of the Moose.

Qualified sponsors are limited to one entry--and must present their uniquely numbered card in person at the Las Vegas Convention.

Did You Sponsor 25 or More Applications During the “I Believe” Campaign Year, Between May 1, 2007 and April 30, 2008? You’re Invited to A Special Event of Distinction! If so, you should be receiving an invitation to the exclusive Circle of Distinction/Heart of Distinction Special Event in Las Vegas, hosted by Director General Airey. If you feel you qualify but have not received your invitation, contact the Membership Department at 630-966-2228. If not--well, now is an excellent time to begin earning your invitation to the 2009 Circle of Distinction/Heart of Distinction Event in Chicago!

Have You Always Wanted To Work For the Membership Department? The Membership Department is currently looking for resumes to be considered for future openings on the Department’s field staff as either a Regional Manager, generally assigned to a one- or two-state territory; or an Operations Analyst--a more frequently traveling official conducting various oversight and guidance functions for Lodge fraternal operations over several states or provinces. > In Orlando in 1997, and Las Vegas in 2001, comic John Pinette had Moose Convention attendees holding their sides with laughter. Now, as the International Convention returns to Vegas in 2008, Pinette will be the headliner for the fraternity’s top member-sponsors at what promises to be a truly sumptuous 25 Club Party!

For the first time in several years, this year’s 25 Club bash, on Monday, June 23, we return to the dinner/show format--which means that restrictions have to be tightened a bit: Existing 25 Clubbers must sponsor five new members, not three, between May 1, 2007 and next April 30 to receive an invitation. And, only the sponsor (not a guest) will be qualified to attend for free.

If a qualifying 25 Clubber wishes to bring a guest, he can either sponsor 10 members during the 5/1/07-4/30/08 period, or, in lieu of that, one guest ticket may be purchased (in advance of the Convention) for $75.
